Jeremiah “Miah” Palmer is a professional drummer from the San Francisco East Bay area. Having started his percussion instruction in elementary school at age 9, he proceeded through high school playing in the concert, symphonic, jazz, and marching bands. He joined his first "rock/ska/funk" band at age 15, which he played with through the rest of high school. At 18 he joined the US Army, playing professional gigs around the central Texas area until his Honorable Discharge.
In 2003 Miah moved to Los Angeles to study at the Musicians Institute, where he received his Journeyman and Professional certificates in Percussion, then his Bachelor of Music Degree in Drum Performance. In 2006, he moved to Nashville, touring with The Van-Dells, returning to L.A. in 2007, where he worked as an LPW (Live Playing Workshop) instructor, classroom drummer, and teaching assistant at Musicians Institute until 2016. Since the pandemic's beginning, he has continued teaching via online lessons, recording via his home studio, working on an audio/video/green screen production studio, in starting the Conservatory of Contemporary Music with guitar virtuoso Greg Harrison.
Currently, Miah has resumed "in-person" lessons, as well as performing live.
Please feel free to contact him with any inquiries.
